What is the procedure itself?
ECU RE-Mapping is carried out by examining the car and uploading a customised map best suited to your car. It changes the timing characteristics of the engine and is usually perfectly matched to your engine, fuel choice, driving style and car condition rather than the standard manufacturer's best guess setup. The ECU is configured by the is chosen by the manufactured to cope with extremely bad servicing and poor quality fuel.

What changes will I notice in the car after ECU Remapping?

Do I need to have anything else changed in my car to support the new changes?
ECU remapping affects just the ECU. Nothing else in the car has to be modified.

How much horsepower increase can I expect?
It is difficult to say exactly as it depends on a number of factors but it could give you an increase of 10% to 30% BHP. We recommend that you talk to one of our remapping specialists to find out more about what you can expect from your car.

Will I see a difference in torque?
Yes. All the modifications are designed to increase torque.

Will I get an improved top speed?
Yes. And, we can remove the manufacturer's top speed limiters; Or in some cases, put a speed limiter in.

Will I get more MPG?
Yes. But this is dependant on the age of the engine and the way the vehicle is driven.

How long will you need the car for?
We will require your car typically for about 1 to 2 hours. If we are custom remapping, then this will usually involve work on the rolling road and we will advise you accordingly.

Do I need to tell my insurance company?
You should inform your insurance company about any modifications that you make to your car.

Can anyone detect that modifications have been made to the ECU?
It is extremely difficult for anyone to tell that modifications have been made to the ECU.

Will it affect the manufacturer's warranty?
ECU remapping is a safe and positive modification to the engine.

What is Brake Horse Power (BHP)?
Brake horsepower (bhp) is the measure of an engine's horsepower before the loss in power caused by the gearbox, alternator, differential, water pump, and other auxiliary components such as power steering pump, muffled exhaust system, etc. Brake refers to a device which was used to load an engine and hold it at a desired RPM.

What is Torque?
Torque, moment or moment of force (see the terminology below), is the tendency of a force to rotate an object about an axis, fulcrum, or pivot. Just as a force is a push or a pull, a torque can be thought of as a twist to an object. Mathematically, torque is defined as the cross product of the lever-arm distance and force, which tends to produce rotation.
